Yeah those Apollo astronauts in the 60s and 70s had to have some serious resistance to claustrophobia.

Speaking of whom, both Buzz Aldrin (Apollo 11) and Fred Haise (Apollo 13) are still alive, in their 90s. I’m sure several others are too, but they’re the only ones I know of, from the first landing and the Tom Hanks movie.

Astronauts seem to be healthy and long lived for the most part. James Lovell lived to be 97.

I grew up in Orlando in the 60s. Every launch from Mercury through Apollo, they used to take us out into the playground so we could watch them go up. And I remember when the Apollo missions went to the moon we were glued to the television constantly. We just launched a crew to the moon yesterday for the first time in half a century and today it’s just., meh
