Is anyone else old enough to remember when stock brokers made house calls. I remember when my father’s stock broker made house calls to hand deliver documents that needed his signature, checks payable to him from sales proceeds, etc. This was during the fifties and sixties.

That’s also when brokerage commission per trade ran to tens, if not hundreds, of dollars. Never happened at our house because my parents didn’t invest in stocks.
Glad those days are over.
I invest in Vanguard’s name brand funds for a commission of $0, and the tax paperwork is automated and accurate.
