I’m a tad late, but the last Ronette passed last weekend. They were likely the biggest ‘girl group’ of the 60s, or maybe second to the Supremes, whose music was very different. The Ronettes had big voices, big hair, and oozed sexiness, all in front of Phil Spector’s “wall of sound.” This was their biggest:
The Temptations are still touring, I’m not sure if there are any original members but they are still hitting the casino circuit.
So are the 4 Tops, although the original members have all died.. One guy joined the Tempts in the early 90s and then joined the 4 Tops in the late 90s. The Temptations still have one original member, Otis Williams (age 84). The other 4 original Tempts have all died (all 4 died before age 53).
