I’m not speaking for Butler but my kid delivered pizza’s for $8 an hour and averaged around $25 an hour with tips. He taught tennis that paid between $25 and $50 an hour, tutored online during the pandemic for $25 an hour and did an online job his senior year of college that paid $23 an hour.

Over the last couple years the car wash, McDonald’s and other fast food businesses have advertised starting at $15 an hour.

I worked for min wage after HS, $3.35 an hour at the time. Small raises. Worked fast food through most of college. I never made more than $16K a year until later, and even with a Master’s, started at $22K, living in the Bay Area. Of course, this was the 90s.

$22,000 in 2000 is like $40,000 today. I assume you’re make more than that today.

The point being is today almost no one is making minimum wage and the pay goes up with experience, just like your’s has.
