These things might be called post-ScamDemic syndrome, as so much of fast food has moved as fast as they can to drive-thru “service.” Leaves no dining room to clean up after.
Weird #1: Goto Taco Bell and order 2 items Sit and wait 20 minutes! Good grief there are 4 people assembling, 2 or 2 lines. Why! Answer: Drive thru gets priority. Keep it moving is top job. Ya’ll in dining room take a cold tater and wait while we work you in when we get a chance!
Weird #2: Different Taco Bell has essentially NO counter staff. Expects you to use their computer to place your order. Helps only if you catch their attention.
Weird #3: Brand new McDons. Great on drive thru. Inside dining room seats maybe 20, and there is no menu board. NONE! Staff courteous and helpful; service fast inside.
Weird #4: Chick fila almost impossible to get in, but few customers inside while the handle 3 drive thru lanes at once.
Ah yes that brings up another one that I would not have mentioned because it is a single location non-chain store…
Just last week we hit the Beefy King. Sign on door says dining room closed 3-5 PM. I think they go home at 5. So we sit in the bloody drive thru line moving about one order every 5 minutes in order to eat like a hobo. I say to the kid, “If I was not a dyed in the wool customer here I would not have put up with waiting this long. Been eating here since 1968. You would sell more if you didn’t close the dining room.” BTW, it was worth the wait.
I went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch today as a habit and went in. Sat at table, entered my order on the App, scanned the code for the table and food was delivered in 4 minutes
