Elon Musk says saving for retirement is irrelevant because AI is going to

Not quite sure I agree with this take.

Ya, just because someone has skills that make a lot of money, doesn’t mean they are intellegent about how money works.
I think he is way off on this one.

Yeah, Musk is really smart but not always, this is an example of that.

This is him hyping his shit.

I think Elon was one toke over the line.

He’s trying to sell his automation. He’s a hype man. Pt Barnum could learn from Elon

Yep. He (and everyone else) ought to have enough sense to know that technology doesn’t remove the requirement to work.

The industrial revolution was a huge explosion of technological advancement, but that didn’t mean the farmers and farm hands got to just stop working. It just means the nature of most work changed.

Even if tech advances afforded government the ability to implement UBI, the value would just be inflated away by all the extra consumption.

People will always need to work and produce value in order to be compensated. Anything less will result in a basic and unfulfilling existence.

I was going to add this, until I read that you stated it.
People need to have a purpose.

Yep, although there are some people that would rather sit on their ass and collect the minimum to get by, that costs taxpayers over $1 trillion a year.

My dad had to medically retire due to heart conditions but he still woke up every morning and went to his little woodshop on our front porch and taught himself woodworking to keep busy.
Then every afternoon would walk to the post office to pick up the mail.

Lol… I think some people here have devoted their life to bitching about Trump.
