I haven’t followed this story and it’s near the top of my list of things I couldn’t care less about.
NPR has covered it over the last few months and it was odd, they want to believe that all women are victims, but also that all black men are innocent of any crime. It was difficult for them to report on.
I have followed this a very small amount.
My guess is the verdict was a compromise.
It is illegal to transport prostitutes across state lines, but since that was their profession, it does not meet the standards of “trafficking”.
But that is a guess I pulled out of my ass (oops, shouldn’t say that in a Diddy thread).
