I am taking a mini staycation the last few days because I was getting close to maxing my vacation time so I went on a three mile run today.
I was like the day kid in a Cross Country race that everyone claps for just for finishing, but I got the three miles in!!
my knees and feet can’t take the pounding of 250 pounds landing on them so my running days are pretty much behind me.
I mostly either ride or do the elliptical, but I want to run a little more than I have been.
Hoka shoes and knee braces seem to help a lot.
5K was the longest I’ve ever run and it was hard. I was in my 20s. No way my knees could handle it now. But elliptical 35-40 minutes every morning.
I played a lot of sports pre-law school, but nothing that required running further than around the bases or across a tennis court. My wife never got any closer to sports than playing the flute in her high school marching band. So we walk. There are a lot of ups and downs around here, so 2-2 1/2 mile provides us with a good attempt to keep healthy.
Good for you parrot, 99% Americans did NOT get in 3 miles today.
But, 94% of parrots did.
after today’s ride I am just over 1,100 miles for the year on my bike. That’s basically over 3 months since we only rode 4 times in January.
Nice
On an unrelated subject, it seems that our friends in the KC area may be able to see the northern lights tonight. Be on the lookout.
