Classified scammers

I got my maverick for sale. Posted on Facebook, Craigslist, and recently autotrader.

Facebook seems to shadow listing the classified unless you pay to highlight. I did this for a fee days and my credit card put a fraud hold on my card.

Autotrader, I paid $30 to post. I have been solicited by numerous scammers on this website. So much that I would not recommend you use it. The current scam is trying to get you committed including scheduling a test drive, then asking for a carfax like report that goes to a fraud site.

Craigslist charges $5 per 30 days for car ads. So far, I have hade the fewest scammers from Craigslist.

I get why people go sell their car to tge dealership and let them deal with this headache.

Ditto. Trouble is, they’re giving up thousands of dollars to avoid the headache.

The dealer orbit has its own scams. I signed up for TrueCar in 2021 (huge mistake) and am still slowly adding dealer email addresses to my spam filter 5 yrs later.

Last time, we just used Carmax. Maybe we’d have gotten slightly more on oour own, but not much and we avoided the hassle.

echo park, car max, and carvana on line for best price. went to echo park as best price. they looked over car and quoted the price on print out. took to dealer and they matched plus saved that amount off the sales tax so no idiot’s hassle
