If this is true, the punishment should be severe.
On issues of basic rules of fairness, I tend to be pretty strict. I think Pete Rose should never be in the HOF and the Astros World Series win should have been voided.
To be honest, I am surprised this is the first time we heard of something like this.
But I agree ,the penalty needs to be severe to discourage it from ever happening again.
And as a ‘Stros fan, it pains me to partially agree with you.
But, the only way that MLB was going to get any information was by agreeing to no discipline for the players and not taking away the World Series.
I’d have to go back, but there may have been some implication that Shaq’s movie deal for Kazam helped get him to the Lakers. But I don’t know or recall if that was directly connected to the team.
Yeah, but my thing was, this was organized, teamwide, systematic cheating. The effect may not have been huge, but in terms of behavior, it’s worse than anything that was proven in the black sox scandal. Some of those guys, like Shoeless Joe, were never proven guilty.
