Did a quick turn and burn trip to Chicago to drop mu daughter off.
Spent exactly zero time actually seeing the city but will definitely go visit to take in some sticfy.
Very interesting city.
- Neighborhoods are very real thing. Her building is old, but safe and I feel good about her being there. Also relatively expensive for square footage.
- Transit is great. No issue not having a vehicle, almost an inconvenience to have one.
- Chicago dogs are for real!! Something about the tomato and celery salt that is life changing
Back in the 90’s I worked for a company that was based in Chicago but had offices all over the country. They had a national meeting in January. We COULD have held it in Phoenix, but they decided to hold it in Chicago. In January. We stayed at The Drake Hotel…I’d never been to Chicago or seen the lake and I thought I’d walk a couple of blocks to see it…I made it half a block…It was unbelievably cold. Colder than anything I have felt in KC.
Oregon is colder than Kansas City. Something to do with the humidity. Temperature wise Kansas City is colder but it’s like being by the lake in Chicago. It’s a weird bone chilling cold that is brutal
But you may have to drive to Indiana to watch the Bears.
