This is natural selection at work. The gates were clearly down…
They wren’t blinded by the sun…they most likely had an urgent text message like “whassup” that they needed to immediately respond to. I’d have more sympathy if it was an unguarded crossing, but there were gates, lights, bells, horns and God knows what. IT’s a shame people were killed, but from what I see from the seat of my bicycle - driving seems to be the LAST thing a lot of motorists do behind the wheel.
