Board games

Does anyone still play board games the old fashioned way? When my daughters family comes to visit me we play scrabble and it is a great way for three generations to have fun together.

Yes, we play a few times a month with friends and neighbors. Lots of fun.

Wife used to do 'em with her kids but I dragged her away (kicking and screaming) so not so often these days. Visit over new year’s and I am sure there will be multiple games on the table. Train game is one.

Now we are beyond sure. DIL posted a pitcher that has around 2 dozen bloody games in it. Woe is me…

I have little kids. We play games some. Monopoly Jr is the current on they enjoy. We also play a lot of uno.

Here was the excitement of learning to stack cards. Something i did a lot as a kid before internet, tablets, and 24/7 entertainment at your fingertips.

Here it is. Hard to imagine this many. With 75 or so in attendance for NYE party, a few of them got played.

Playing cards was big in our house. I learned to play Canasta, Gin Rummy and Pinochle watching my parents play with their friends. We would sometimes play Monopoly or Yahtzee. I learned to play chess in high school and was routinely crushed by my friend who lived next door.

Nice game setup to have Ticket to Rode and other Eurogames. I hate blockus as I’m bad at it

Pitch is my favorite card game except for 7 wonders and Majorie Taylor Green aka Magic the Gathering

High, low, Jack, and game (aka tens and face cards). I forgot if a ten is worth ten points, ace is 4 points, Jack 1 pt, queen 2 pts, and king 3 pts for calculating who won the point for GAME. We played nines thru aces and you can play cutthroat or partners. Lastly, you can have the dealer take the bid and I think you can have a jick or same color jack but not the same suit

There is 4 point and 10 point pitch, similar games with a different scoring system.
We play 10 point.

Never played pitch, so that;s a new one to me. I am partial to Hearts and Oh Hell.

Never heard of 10 pt pitch. Sounds interesting

I’ve played Euchre

Does anyone else use a deck of cards to play bridge. My husband and I use to meet the nicest people during our cruises playing bridge.

We know quite a few couples that have game nights, it replaced card parties our parents used to have. It’s a fun, cheap night.
