My iPhone is now four years old but its battery health capacity is 87 and I have no problem installing new updates. Do you think I should buy a new iPhone.
I’d keep it as long as it’s still working ok and they are still doing updates for your version.

Only if there is a specific reason for wanting something in a new phone that you are not getting now. It does not sound like that is the case.

I see no reason to buy a new one, unless you are feeling extremely charitable towards Apple’s shareholders.
What prompted this question? Are you concerned about the battery’s reduced capacity?
On the iPhone navigate to…
Settings/Battery/Battery Health & Charging and verify that Optimized Battery Charging is enabled.
