I no longer follow baseball as I once did, but a rare feat has been accomplished in the last few days by Miguel Cabrera, a Detroit Tiger for the last 15 seasons. He got his 3,000th hit. That alone is difficult, but he now a career with 3,000+ hits (3,002), 500+ home runs (502) and a lifetime batting average of .300+ (.310). I think he has now joined a club that previous only had Hank Aaron and Willie Mays as members. He also joins Ty Cobb and Al Kaline as the only two hitters who got their 3,000th as a Tiger.
At age 39, I wonder if he will now consider retirement.
