US can respond by not allowing any of their teams visas for the upcoming world cup
I was trying to find an article that explains what would happen regarding the World Cup if UEFA banned Israel but FIFA did not. I think this one sums it up well.
IMO, if UEFA bans Israel and the member countries refuse to play, that should be a forfeit in favor of Israel.
That assumes somebody else could impose that rule on UEFA. I have no idea how that works.
On a side note, from what I see Israel has not qualified for the World Cup since 1970 and did not look very good to qualify next year either.
Correct, so this is just posturing by the UEFA to make themselves look sufficiently compassionate.
Like I said, I hate soccer for so many reasons.
