And, he stands to possibly lose what is left from his massive contract.
There’s also a clause that states Michigan State can scrap the deal and get off the hook for all the remaining money if he “engages in any conduct which constitutes moral turpitude or which, in the university’s reasonable judgment, would tend to bring public disrespect, contempt or ridicule” to the school.
Any bets on whether Michigan State tries to invoke that part?
Maybe, but it was an incredibly stupid thing to do. MSU was severely, but rightfully, criticized for their handling of Larry Nassar. My guess is that Tucker is gone.
I don’t think there is much question about that. What is your opinion on whether Michigan State will be able to get out of paying the remainder of Tucker’s contract?
I haven’t seen his contract but one article quoted that his contract defined cause if he “engages in any conduct which constitutes moral turpitude or which, in the university’s reasonable judgment, would tend to bring public disrespect, contempt or ridicule.” I’m pretty sure MSU’s attorney can draft an opinion stating that his acts meet that definition.
And Tuckers attorney can draft an opinion that states the exact opposite.
I am pretty sure they will pay him a portion of the buyout to avoid a drawn out legal process.
And the latest. Things don’t look good for Tucker.
Edit: Tucker should reach out to Bobby Petrino for advice on how to get hired again after a scandal like this. Maybe Petrino could charge him a consulting fee.
