An ineresting perspective…

I offer no judgment or a what if, but the facts… as usual.

Wealth isn’t distributed it’s earned, if people want more they should do what’s necessary to achieve that.

FWIW I know a lot of people that are worth higher than the “what if” number in your link, they started with nothing and over the years got to 7 figures. They weren’t given anything they got there by working hard, saving, investing and making good decisions.

The article, and my comment was presented as a hypothetical, not a proposition. But I knew full well where you’d take it. I’ll await WM and Hanks accusations of Sgt. Comrade.

Lol… I was just pointing out the facts. We get it Geeze, you think life is unfair because some have more than others. Anyone can reach “critical mass” as Bob Brinker used to say, hard work and sacrifices pay off over the years. Unfortunately a lot of people aren’t willing to do that and find it easier to complain about life being unfair.

And you think life is unfair because some pay more tax than others.

I don’t think it’s unfair, I just think people should contribute to running the country. The people that complain the most about others not paying their fair share are usually the ones who pay the least. A flat tax would fix that.

It would improve me a little.
But hard to figure my family “wealth” because my wife and my retirements value is dependent upon how long we live.

The average age people become a millionaire is 57, that’s the result of years of earning, saving and investing.

I would end up with a big loss. All the article shows is the wealthy are not as wealthy as people think.

Shouldn’t we be more like Europe where the middle class pay most the taxes?

If you look at some of the European taxation systems, most have what I would call a semi-flat income, tax. Many are two steps, some are three. The lowest step is taxed at X% and the next and the next step at a slightly higher rate. I haven’t looked at the details, but I suspect there are fewer deductions and credits, and there probaby not different rates for different types of income.

The 10 myth article talks a lot about it. The VAT taxes puts the the burden on the middle and lower income classes. The high income due pay more in taxes but not the bulk like the United States.

The left likes to talk about equality and fairness, except when it comes to taxes.

So if I have a net worth of $200,000, where would that put me for a 41 year?

I don’t believe in class warfare; it’s the decisions we make that determine where we are

They want everything to be free but don’t want to pay for it. They don’t math well. They don’t get the rich can’t pay for everything
