I admit I thought most the stories were made up but I’m shocked at how badly these products were designed.
Typically they only go a short distance. As such they can’t really track things. Apple decided to allow any phone to relay the location but that creates a security problem.
So I’ll admit my first understanding of the implementation was wrong.
Yes, the design was bad. I am surprised their legal didn’t stop this sooner. That is part that i didn’t get at first is they relay information using other phones. Typically these work tied to YOUR phone.
