A flying car prototype just got an airworthiness certificate from the FAA

A California startup says it has been certified by the Federal Aviation Administration for testing what it describes as the first flying car with US government approval — a fully electric vehicle that can both fly and travel on roads.

This could spell doom for the airline industry.

Or, the FAA may regulate the idea to death so that it isn’t profitable.

My guess is the cost will be unattainable by 95%. The range will be horrible and operating cost could be high.

I havent seen what kind of ticket will be required, sport or ultralight?

I haven’t looked either, and it may change over time. But I’m sure for hire will require a commercial.
