A $27,000 car sounds pretty attractive these days. I don’t think they’re going to cry too hard if the incentive goes away.
I doubt it goes away, even if Repugs are elected. It didn’t disappear in the 2017-2019 window in which they controlled the federal government completely.
They do have a plant in California as well but I suspect all new plants will be in Texas or elsewhere.

Yep…where the average price to register a car is $50. But to register a Tesla it’s $400 when you buy it and $200 every year after that.

See…along with promising that the cyberfuck was just around the corner for 4 years, he has also been saying that “full self driving” is just a couple of months away…and he’s been saying THAT for 4 years. And he’s a fucking idiot is some respects. Back in 2019 he thought it would be a great idea to play games or watch videos on the laptop monitor mounted on the dash…while the car was moving. No problem with that since there was “autopilot” and full self driving was just a couple of months away. Two years later, that feature was turned off.

When he bought it it was about six months old and worth less than $20 million, so he had a LOT to do with the success.
Tesla wasn’t worth much when he bought it. Maybe 20 million. Tesla is now one of the most valuable companies. That’s Elon for you
Yes, his money helped. But he had absolutely zero to do with the concept and idea of Tesla. He bought that. He didn’t invent or code PayPal he bought that. Yet he paints himself to be some freaking genius. A drug addict a genius, but a genius.
And for what it’s worth, anybody else who is the richest man in the world could probably have done just as good a job as all Elon did. Remember, he’s the richest man in the world.
Love Elon or hate him, the man is a genius. Space X, Tesla, PayPal….they all changed the game in the industries. Twitter was a mistake but he may be able to polish that turd.
