5k

Calling what I did a “sport” is probably stretching the term to the limits, but I ran my second 5k of the month Saturday.
I cut a minute off my time and improved my finishing position among my age group by 6%. The time cut is pretty surprising since i am pretty sure the course defied geography and was uphill the entire race.
My daughter ran the 10k and finished 1st in her age group.

Congrats. I’ve been meaning to run one but I have a plethora of foot issues.

I’ve never been a strong runner.

Where’s the kilt?

Good job. My feet won’t allow running anymore. But yeah, I’ve seen some of those “uphill all the way” routes.

Maybe at next years Snake Saturday run

Nice. A 5K is the farthest I’ve ever run, and I was in my 20s at the time. No way my knees could handle it now.

More than me. I was never a runner, more a walker or hiker. I could leave the house right now and walk 3.3 miles up and down the hills around here and get back still alive in 75-90 minutes. If I tried to run, you’d have to pick me up somewhere along the route where I had passed out.

I don’t even run when I’m chased, but my wife likes to go on hikes at local and state parks that have trails. Starved Rock in Illinois is really nice and if you go at the right time in spring they’ve got some really cool waterfalls. Now that it’s getting nicer out, we’ll go for a a half hour walk after dinner, it’s nice to say hi to people in the neighborhood and pet their dogs.
