What should interest rates be?

I agree, but unfortunately we’re dealing with the system we have.

I only see conservatives making (a version of) KC’s argument when they are trying to use it to discredit the sitting Democrat president.

Curiously, this rhetoric was very absent from conservative sources during the mass digital printing done during Bush’s and Trump’s POTUS tenures.

Perhaps more of a libertarian.

Nah, people would move their assets before the repeal of those regulations became effective.

Deposits are insured up to $250K. People with any sense are not parking cash in excess of that amount since bank accounts pay low interest & they can make more money through other avenues.

The regulations are doing more harm than good. Keeping shitty banks & the shitty people running them in business.

That is the difference between a big C Conservative and a small c conservative.
Small c conservatives don’t have any principles when the GOP is in office

The fed is the market. They hold 25% of the bonds issued. If the fed unwound their balance sheet the yield would by materially higher than the 5% we currently have.
