I just have no idea how it is monetized to the extent that it is.
Similar to onlyfans. You make entertaining content and you share in the ad revenue from the platforms. The more clicks and more hours watched, the more you make. Places like youtube pay those that make the content. Then when their likeness explodes, they then sell merch. Also companies will pay you to have their products or brand in your videos.
That isn’t similar at all. Onlyfans you pay the person.

I know influencers get free shit and often cash, free trips to 5 star resorts. I know we’re all above advertising I’ve bought bikes and gear because a YouTuber I follow recommends it.
Well they both make entertaining content. At lease that is my understanding. I have never been on OF.
I’ve read articles about it. It’s fascinating. It didn’t start at porn. It was meant for fan content. Maybe a chef would do a cooking show, or a football player would talk the game or his workout.
It just grew into a porn thing.
The idea was brilliant. You’d let the creator set the price and you’d get a cut.
I had a similar idea but never got off my ass to do it.
That actually makes sense if you know the streamer has content knowledge.
