What is ironic is black neighborhoods want more police but white liberals don’t want them to have more police.

GF had two students in an early American history class refer to the city of New Hamsterdam.
Did the Dutch bring wheels to run in?
On a related note, I just finished revising a family history for a cousin and was able to trace one line of his father’s ancestry back to New Amsterdam. The Dutch were excellent record keepers.
She’s telling me this morning that students are like “why didn’t the police stop the kkk from lynching people.” They don’t get it. The police were heavily involved in the kkk in much of the south.
She may be experiencing one reason why employers are looking for college grads.
As were many Democrats…

Or people don’t get Lynching is taking someone away from the police. By definition the police did try to stop it.
