Regarding public education, I think that a town is defined by the quality of its public school district. Even though our daughter was already a student at Northwestern University when we moved from New York State to Connecticut, we still bought a house in a town that has excellent public schools for that reason.
I agreed education is important but that we also shouldn’t throw money away. The lefts solution to everything is to redistribute wealth and don’t care about results.

Excellent quote and very true, a lot of people live their life like that. I’d rather have my modest paid off house and drive my car 10+ years than have a mortgage and car payment.
The older I get the more I appreciate the message that Thornton Wilder tried to convey in his classic play “Our Town” which is that what makes a life special is a series of seemingly ordinary events that didn’t appear to be special at the time.
