Marty Stuart

After an 18 month delay, we got to see Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives this past Monday night.

All I can say is that they come to a place near you, go see them. They are a spectacular group of musicians. Along with Stuart on Clarence White’s electric guitar, acoustic guitar and mandolin, there is Harry Stinson on drums, Kenny Vaughan on guitar and Chris Scruggs (Earl’s grandson) on acoustic and electric bass. Their music ran the gamut from Willie, Jimmie Rodgers, George Jones and Stuart’s own songs, Stuart’s mandolin solo of the Orange Blossom Special, to the Byrds, to instrumentals that would made Dick Dale smile and even Psychotic Reaction (yep, the 1965 Count Five hit). Nearly two hours without an intermission.

This is a show from 2019 and there is much more on youtube:

Been there, done that.
