I remember watching Lawrence Welk with my parents and will occasionally watch an episode on YouTube, brings back memories, I loved how they dressed and the hair styles.
When I was a kid, we would come home from Church on Sundays and there was a radio station that played Polka music that my parents would turn on.

My wife breaks our her polka albums at the holidays when her parents are over. We also had a polka band at our wedding along with a DJ.

My paternal grandparents were Polish immigrants, so polka was a required subject.

This weekend was Polka Fest in New Glarus Wisconsin, we planned on going but couldn’t fit it in. Next year for sure.
We’ve been to New Glarus and got the story on the Swiss immigration to that area from someone whose name was exactly the same of one of the first immigrants. We also went just up the road to Mt. Horeb to see the Mustard Museum when it was there and heard the stories of the Norwegian immigration to that area (as well as to see the proliferation of trolls, not the internet kind).
