When I was growing up my parents put the lights on our Christmas tree a few days before Christmas. However, they waited until the younger children went to bed on Christmas Eve to decorate the tree and told us that Santa put up the decorations. They, also, told us that Santa wouldn’t come to our house to deliver the presents on Christmas Eve until all the children were asleep.
One Christmas Eve I was having trouble getting my younger brother to go to bed until he heard the front door open and thought that it was Santa. However, it was really my father coming home from work.
