Hank Aaron, RIP

In my mind he is the all-time home run king. He did it with class, not steroids.

Sad, I suspect he was among the very few left who played in both the Negro League and MLB.

Charley Pride, better known as a musician, also played in the Negro leagues. Didn’t quite make the majors, but was a minority owner of the Rangers.

I have not seen “42” yet.
Sad that the actor that played Robinson, Chadwick Boseman, also has passed.

To tell the truth, I didn’t realize until much later that both Aaron and Ernie Banks started in the Negro League.

I anyone ever is in KC, I suggest the Negro League museum.
It is awesome, and as an added bonus, the Jazz museum is attached to it.

He was a remarkable man and ball player. Only got to see him play in person once, at the 1971 All Star Game.
