Back in the early late '70s- early 80s in junior high we had book bags that were just a small canvas bag that would hold a few books with a draw string to close it. We’d hold it by the draw string and swing it on the playground as a weapon.
Went to a Catholic school back in the late 50’s to the late 60’s. We also had those canvas bags for books.
Not actually that “cool” of a picture but here is a photo of a McDonald’s back in 1969.
Winter time in Maine. Someone took this pic of a bunch of Cardinals perched on some limbs. Both the males and females are gathered there.

This is a photo of the Verrazzano Narrows Bridge during construction which opened in 1961 and connects Brooklyn with Staten Island in New York City. Prior to the existence of this bridge there was no way to get from Staten Island to the other counties in New York City by land. This bridge has has a significant impact on the demographics of Staten Island.
This is the only place on Riverside Drive In New York City that still has a full block of its original 19th century townhouses.
Took this a little while ago. It’s been rainy here.
Was just talking about it with the gf. Want to visit New England in the fall sometime. She lived in CT for a few years.
