Charge as you drive

Is this the future of EVs?

When I first saw the title of this thread I thought you were talking about a place that charged you taxes while you drove on their roads.

A few years ago I saw a show (maybe YouTube) about roads that would charge cars like wireless charging phones or transfer energy like an induction cook top. It was interesting but very expensive and in the very distant future. Another thing I saw was using magnetic force to propel vehicles down the road that was pretty inexpensive.

Off topic a bit. One of the better things, I have bought after seeing an Informercial on TV about 8 to10 years ago. A portable induction cooktop.

It’s going to be insanely expensive. Upfront cost is going to be sky high. Maintenance is going to be high. I just don’t see this being viable. Imagine one overweight vehicle will destroy the road.
