Alzheimer's and dementia: How picking your nose may increase your risk
Nose-picking may increase a person's risk of developing Alzheimer's and dementia by introducing bacteria into the brain, according to a study in mice.
I doubt that will reduce consumption. They put nutritional information on fast and junk food yet Americans keep getting fatter.
Concur that alcohol is poison.
It’s fun to partake, but it comes at a cost. Essentially it taxes the body heavily, as all other bodily priorities (including lots of things we don’t think about or aren’t aware of) are ground to a halt in order to detox the bloodstream.
Concur with this also. People are weak creatures of habit & emotion.
If they wanted good information, they’d have found it by now.
Years ago people complained that McDonald’s didn’t have anything healthy, so they put McSalad’s on the menu and nobody bought them. Nutrition isn’t rocket surgery or brain science, it’s common sense. If you drink a 12 pack a night it’s not good for you. If you eat 5,000 calories a day and don’t move your body you’re going to get fat.
I have cut down a lot.
Drank a lot on my cruise, but now only have drink about once a week, and then only one or two.
But if anyone didnt realize that alcohol was not healthy then that is on them.
That’s normally when I’ll drink heavily. Otherwise 1-2 drinks a mojth
Consumption is down year after year, but it’s because of legal weed not that its bad for you. I do both, definitely drink more than I should. My brother does dry January every year but the other 11 months I never see him without a bourbon in his hand. He acknowledges that he sleeps better and feels better and loses weight, but he’s already talking about getting hammered at a concert we’re going to on January 31.
I’ve also read that one of the ways to delay the onset of dementia is to avoid alcohol
Agreed completely. I’d say alcohol, followed by added sugar.
The dose makes the poison, always. So a bit of each or either isn’t a big deal. But a lot of people have daily consumption, or even high daily consumption, which is a fast track to one or more of the diseases of civilization — obesity, type 2 diabetes, dementia, etc.
Some types of dementia can be directly attributed to alcohol abuse. But, there are other factors as well.

Of course there are. But frequently downing toxins isn’t going to help, no matter what.
Just don’t pick your nose.

Just don’t pick your nose.
What do you do when Kleenex goes on strike?
Picket.
